Let the celebration begin!

 

The White Cane Day march is just the start of this exciting day. At their conclusion, all of the marching, tapping and  wagging people and and creatures end up on the campus of The Texas School For The Blind and Visually Impaired for some awesome food and activities. Look below and check out all of the fun stuff we know about, and check back often as this page will be updated as new events and vendors are added.

 

Schedule Of Events:

8:00 AM – March steps off from Austin City Hall for the Texas State Capital (Route 5)

9:00 – March steps off from Walgreens, Big O’s Pit BBQ, Central Market and Triangle Station (Routes 1 thru 4).

9:45 – Marchers arrive at the Texas School For The Blind and Visually Impaired and will be greeted by some great music from the TSBVI Choir

10:00 AM – Speeches from

Bryan Daniel – Chairman and Commissioner Representing the Public, Julian Alvarez-TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Aaron Demerson- Commissioner Representing Employers

White Cane Day Governors Proclamation.

10:15 AM – Mayoral Proclamation (TBA)

10:20 AM – Ed Serna- Executive Director Texas Workforce Commission

10:25 AM – Representative from H.E.B

10:30 AM – Emily Coleman, Superintendent- Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

10:40 AM – National Anthem being performed by TWC Customer TBA
